I bet it would sound awesome, too. 300ish cubes divided between that many cylinders. I bet it would rev.

These are the ones my wife and I have owned together and paid our own monies for. I’ve “owned” several other cars but they weren’t actually mine on paper.
I don’t drive buy big engined vehicles it turns out and 50% have been turbocharged.

Is it weird that I basically had this handy? The pre-’72 cars are based on a SWAG conversion from gross to net.

1993, 4.0 liter 8 cylinder - 254 hp
2013, 1.8 liter 4 cylinder - 148 hp
1990, 1.6 liter 4 cylinder - 116 hp
2016, 1.6 liter 4 cylinder - 201 hp
1985, 1.6 liter 4 cylinder - 112 hp
2001, 2.2 liter 4 cylinder - 200 hp
I really want a small displacement I6 one day...but I hate the fuel economy of anything over 4 cylinders and 1.6 liters.
2.1 Liter 4.66 cylinder - 172 hp

Wow a 3.8 liter 6 cylinder making only 191 hp would be sad.

LOL yeah the number of big, old, inefficient engines is making the HP number look pathetic.

Errr, how do you categorise project vehicles?

Don’t forget a lot of old motors made up for horsepower wwith torque.
For example my old coupe deville 7 liters 193hp but 320 torque. Miss that white whale!

Damon nibby i thought I’d owned a lot of cars lol.
I’m 41 and have had probably about as many since I bought my first car at 18.. how old are you if I may ask?
How did you like your saab? Always wanted a 900 turbo 2 door .

I’m not Nibby lol
But I’m 34. I get bored easily
I loved the SPG so much I bought another to clone when it got totaled. The SPG was on my list of attainable dream cars. They’re quick, comfortable, economical (I saw 34.5 mpg being nice to it on the highway) and could swallow a full-size fridge in the rear

320 ft lbs out of 7 liters? Compared to the pathetic horsepower it’s making I guess it isn’t as pathetic. But 65-75 ft lbs is considered a mediocre amount of torque per liter. That thing is barely scraping 45 lol

Ok yah it still sucks but its a good example of the hp/torque ratio.
On practice my Seville had plenty of power. And I think got 15mpg. This was around 2003 when gas was like 1.80 a gallon.

Do it. A few things to watch for:
Don’t get an 89-90. ECM problems abound
Rust on axle portals are a death sentence
That’s about it. The engine is a million-mile unit (mine went 348k before blowing the original head gasket) and most c900 components are well overbuilt.
